This site is built for readers who may have reduced vision, reduced dexterity, or who use assistive technology. Our audience skews older than most, and accessibility is not an afterthought here.
What we have done
- Base text is set at 17.5px with generous line height, larger than typical web defaults.
- Colour combinations were chosen to meet contrast requirements for body text and interface elements.
- The site is navigable by keyboard, including the care-match questions and the chat widget.
- A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Animation is disabled for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
- Interactive elements carry accessible labels, and the FAQ uses native disclosure elements that screen readers announce correctly.
- Pages are readable and usable without JavaScript, apart from the optional care-match questions.
