What senior care costs in the Austin area
The 2025 CareScout Cost of Care Survey puts the Texas median for assisted living at $5,666 a month and a private nursing home room at $7,604. CareScout does not publish separate Austin figures. Austin generally runs above the state median because of local wage and real estate costs.

Why we do not publish an Austin-specific figure. Austin's rapid growth, competitive labor market, and newer inventory generally push local pricing above the Texas median. We do not publish an Austin-specific dollar figure because no primary source publishes one. Ask each community directly for a current all-in monthly quote. You will find sites quoting a precise Austin number. We could not trace any of them to a primary source, so we do not repeat them.
